MANDATE: The President provides strategic leadership to GWZ, guiding its mission and representing the organization at all levels. She chairs board meetings, oversees policy development, marketing strategies and ensures effective program implementation while managing resources prudently. As GWZ's chief advocate, she builds partnerships and champions women's rights nationally and internationally. Responsible for financial approvals and operational efficiency, she also directs external communications and serves as matron of special committees.

BIOGRAPHY: Dr. Annie Musonda-Mubanga has a sober, mature character, an articulate speaker, a prolific writer and a highly dedicated individual with extensive experience in education. Her academic record spans several accomplishments, as evidenced by her track record of dedication to continuous learning and growth. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Education Leadership and Management (CHAU-ZOU), Master of Business Administration with Education Management (ARU), Master of Education in Adult Education (UNZA), Postgraduate Diploma in Education Leadership and Teaching Methodology (CBU), Postgraduate Diploma in Education Quality Assurance (UNILUS), Bachelor of Arts with Education (UNZA), Advanced Certificate in Education Leadership (UNZA), Certificate in Diplomatic Practice, Protocol and Public Relations (ZIDIS), Certificate in Professional Authorship (PAI), Certificate in Psycho-social Counselling (MOH/UNAIDS), and a Certificate in Events Management.

Dr. Annie has successfully written and published several peer-reviewed journal articles, including books such as ‘Education Leadership and Management in Zambia’. Her contributions extend beyond academia; she is actively involved in public and community service using various platforms, particularly in advancing girls’ education and promoting school Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives.

Dr. Annie serves in the Ministry of Education in Zambia and has amassed over 17 years of teaching experience. Since 2018, she has also been a lecturer at Chalimbana University, where she teaches various management, education and business courses while mentoring numerous students in research projects. Her multifaceted expertise and commitment to educational excellence uniquely position her to excel in multiple roles within and outside the education sector.
