MANDATE: The Vice President supports the President by overseeing GWZ’s daily operations. She ensures operational efficiency, drives member engagement and leads special projects. Additionally, she evaluates financial requests and serves as matron of standing committees.

GWZ ENDORSEMENT: Dr. Margaret Mwale is a strategic leader who fosters operational efficiency, unity and growth of GWZ.

BIOGRAPHY: Dr. Margaret Mkandawire-Mwale is an accomplished professional with a strong academic background in education and gender studies. She holds a PhD in Educational Administration from the Department of Educational Administration and Policy Studies at the University of Zambia, where she currently lectures.

Dr. Margaret completed her Bachelor of Education at the University of Zambia in 2003, followed by a Master of Arts in Gender Studies in 2007. Her extensive knowledge in these fields equips her with a unique perspective on logistical planning, particularly in educational contexts. In 2008, she was promoted to Senior Lecturer at Chalimbana National InService Teacher’s College (now Chalimbana University) and subsequently joined the University of Zambia in 2009 as a Lecturer and Researcher.

Dr. Margaret is also actively involved in community work, focusing on initiatives that empower women. She serves as the Chairperson for the Grant Management Committee of the Non-Governmental Gender Organization’s Coordinating Council (NGOCC), where she oversees projects aimed at enhancing gender equality and supporting women's development. Her strategic thinking, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple stakeholders make her an asset in any logistical role. With a proven track record of fostering collaboration and driving successful initiatives, Margaret is dedicated to enhancing operational efficiency and promoting equitable practices in all her endeavours.
